Biography:
Cherry Truluck designs sets, multimedia (video projection) and costume for theatre. Originally trained as an architect, she then studied for an MA: Theatre in the Visual Language of Performance at Wimbledon College of Art.
With theatre design experience dating back to 2003, Cherry's work has encompassed new writing and classics (from Tennessee Williams to Shakespeare), opera and musicals, experimental and site-specific theatre. Cherry also works as an art director and stylist for clients including Havana Club, Gallo, Jamesons, Pernod Ricard (with Miss Jones and Co.) and Alison Jackson. Cherry has recently been nominated as "Best Set Designer" in the 2011 OffWestEnd.com Awards ("The Offies") for her work on the Tennessee Williams world premiere of A Cavalier for Milady. As a live artist and researcher, Cherry has a particular interest in online and multimedia performance environments. A founder member of international performance art group ActiveLayers, she has been involved in groundbreaking live online performance work using software Upstage. Working independently, she also creates multimedia and performance-based installation work, with exhibitions in London, UK and Baltimore, US.
